When selecting to park your vehicle at an airport, there are usually lots of alternatives that are provided to you.We all have lots of options open to use when picking airport parking. Depending on whether or not you will be traveling and need to park your vehicle for an extended length of time at the airport, (long-term parking), or else if you are only going to be there for a short period of time and will only want to park your car there for several hours.

If you are traveling, it is best to take into account the alternate options that you have before making a final decision. First, determine if the airport's parking price will suit your price range (most airports cost a certain fee per day, and whether or not you are willing to have your car in a public place unattended for a prolonged period of time. In fact it's not a bad idea, especially if you are going away for a holiday, to get dropped off at the airport instead of utilizing airport parking at all. Just make sure that the individual is available to pick you up when you arrive again, and let the person know which flight you are taking; most airports have pick up areas for each airline, to make pickup easier.

As another possibility, you can choose to park your vehicle short-term, and choose someone who will pick up your car and take your car home for you if nobody is on hand to take you to the airport. Just remember that you have to really trust this person because they are taking what is probably the second most valuable (in terms on money) posession that you own. Just remember that you have to tell them where to pick it up, there are lots of cars parked at airports and it's very easy to come unstuck trying to find yours. Also don't forget to provide them with a spare set of keys, otherwise they won't be able to start your vehicle!

If you do decide to park your vehicle in the airport's long-term parking lot, keep these few tips in mind: Place your keys in your checked luggage, that way you won't be questioned by security personnel when you place your carry on items through the security tunnel and they come across them. Also, before you leave your vehicle, make sure that all valuables are kept out of sight and that your vehicle is locked. This will help deter theft of your vehicle and/or items inside the vehicle. Parking your vehicle in a location that is lighted helps, this makes your vehicle more visible to others, and if someone tries to enter your vehicle forcefully, chances are someone else will take notice. It also helps to take pictures of your vehicle and the surrounding area when you park the vehicle at the airport, that will help you to remember where you parked, and will provide evidence should your vehicle suffer damage while you are away. You will be able to use these photos as evidence that it was damaged before you arrived. If you want to you can check out my blog at: budget car parking
