No one decided on the no new links policy and it is not in the rules. A bunch of very eager editors decided to enforce the condition of their own accord. They probably own sites and don't want new competition. That is where it came from. Hope it helps. Trumph talk 10:57, 23 July 2015 (EDT)

You are right, there'd be no point in checking that. I don't own any commercial links down here, but if I ever need to add non-commercial links and they remove them there is going to be trouble. A Message for Toto, et al
We're not in Kansas anymore, Trumph. (I had a reality lesson on this very subject last night.) Unless you've acquired some face-to-face time, and to which our conventions apply, I'll ask you to read through the next and don your new jaundiced eye. and, sadly, You and I can shed our dependence on conventions of choice, (they're as useful in here as a eunuch with no voice). But the conventions we know, like entropy and disorder... they are left to devices of the malevolent world order. It's sad that not even disorder in here, has an identity. How could it? It lacks definition and predictability. it has grown into a monster. The worst thing about it, is And though I was born in the darkness of night, it wasn't this black hole, and it wasn't last night. Left to the devices of the bitch-pitchy people, entropy has grown into a monster found a new definition. it's neither by accident nor the result of evolutionary change. The disorder in here is at the hands of those humans whose intent is to deceive.
I spent a good chunk of time online last night doing some sniff-digging, mystery-solving research, though it didn't start out that way. I'd like to share with you a “Cliff Notes” version, along with the pages of whay I couldn't finish today. While trying to help a “friend” find a forgotten username, I began to see certain things. It was like names were popping right out of the listing of THIRTY-THOUSAND or more (a number of new users since Feb 2=0=1=4). Then dates started finding their matches and mates, and everything fell into place. It was great!
dates began popping off the pages of 30,000+ user names created since Feb 2014 (re you *****ing kidding me?), and ended with fewer people by half serving as admins than seven, and more user names (by a factor -thus far- of 3, making the identity of the admins a strain for most, and explaining the actions of at least four active representing those admins, by a factor of 3, quick ru-through of my THW webinar last night, where I studied log of user creation dates, and compared them with those of the "7" admins and the most active "undoers" on here.
